The Alberta Children’s hospital is a world-renowned facility in Calgary, Alberta. Parents are permitted to visit their children at any time of the day or night. Visiting by non-Parents is restricted to daytime and it must be ensured during the night, that access is restricted to Parents.
HMA was retained to redesign the security systems for the wards. The access control and monitoring was an extension of the central system that is monitored by the security staff but customized local control panels were provided in each ward to enable the nursing staff to schedule the security levels on an individual ward basis.
