Project: Treasury Building
Location: London, United Kingdom
Design Architect: Foster and Partners
HMA Consulting personnel undertook the design for the retrofit of the East wing of the historical Treasury Building Great George Street in London. The design incorporated a new central security control centre that allows the existing security system for the Treasury Department, occupying the West wing, and the new system for the Customs & Excise and Inland Revenue Department, located in the East wing, to be managed as one system. The design of the system permits the building security to be managed as one building, with the ability to divide into two buildings with independent security systems in the future. The security systems components include X-Ray scanners, CCTV, coded manual locks, proximity card access, voice intercom and intrusion alarms
Being a heritage-listed building, the system design required minimal impact to the building’s appearance.
