Project: Williams Tower
Location: Houston, Texas
Developer/Owner/Manager: Hines
Design Architect: Phillip Johnson / John Burgee
Completed in 1983, Williams Tower is located adjacent to the famous Galleria mixed-use center. The dramatic 64-story, 1.4 million-square-foot office tower is a product of the award-winning architectural team of Philip Johnson and John Burgee. The tower was designed to provide the major tenant with all the advantages of a private facility while maximizing land value by including additional multi-tenant speculative space. In order to meet the tenant’s requirements, the building functions as two buildings stacked one on top of another, each with its separate elevators, lobbies and garages.
HMA personnel provided retrofit designs of the security, parking and building automation systems.
